We provide support and help in various ways.

Below are some examples of the work we have done.

Dolly

In November 2025, after seeing a post on the Ring Neighbors app, we connected with a woman who had been seeing a stray dog on her street for a couple of months.  She was afraid to approach the dog so we collaborated with her and made a plan.  A week later, we trapped Dolly.  She stayed with Marcia and we connected with Gabriel from Puppy Prep was able to evaluate her.  We reached out to our network and found Dolly a foster.  Dolly then stayed with Kelly for a week before going to her foster.  She is currently available for adoption through Brick City Rescue.

Penelope

Late one Saturday night, we saw a notification on the Ring Neighbors app about a dog (Penelope) who had been abandoned in the stairwell of a multifamily home.  Nobody living there knew the dog.  They called the police but were told their town does not have animal control, which is incorrect (this is something residents in this town are frequently told by police).  Afraid someone with bad intentions would go pick up the dog claiming that it was theirs, we reached out to the poster.  After explaining that we do animal rescue, the finder provided their location for us to come pick up the dog.  Kelly, Jen and Jen's husband drove over to pick up Penelope and scanned her for a microchip- no chip.  She stayed at Kelly's house overnight before Brick City Rescue picked her up to take her to a foster.  Penelope was adopted a few months later!

Amtrak Amy

We were contacted by an NJ Transit engineer who had been seeing a dog running around the train tracks for weeks. She initially called the police who only chased the dog and made him run. We set up cameras and feeding stations, but there were railroad tracks and fences that made everything difficult.  After three weeks of climbing fences (Marcia), walking through briar bushes, and bamboo (to leave food, set the trap and refill food), watching cameras and sitting at the trap, the dog was trapped and safe!  She stayed at Kelly's house for a couple of nights before going to Shetland Sheepdog Placement Services of NJ where they named her Amtrak Amy and where she is currently available for adoption.

Lil Mama

Lil Mama was adopted from AHS Newark and a few days later she escaped from her new home.  Adrianna from AHS Newark reached out to us for help and connected us with Lil Mama's owner.  We provided Lil Mama's owner with the first steps to take- flyers, posting on social media, etc.  Lil Mama escaped from Newark, but we posted in the Facebook groups of surrounding towns in case she traveled.  There were no sightings for a few days and then a man found Lil Mama curled up in his backyard and called Lil Mama's owner.  He knew it was Lil Mama from our post in the Union County Facebook page.  Lil Mama is home, safe and warm!

Mountainside fox

Marcia was contacted by a woman in Mountainside, NJ who was frequently seeing a fox with mange.  Marcia was able to trap the fox and take him to wildlife rehabber, Karen Cooper.  There, it was determined that the fox not only had mange, but a broken leg that needed to be amputated.  After receiving several months of care and rehabilitation, the fox was released back in Mountainside.

Pi

Marcia saw a post on Facebook about a local cat that was missing.  She reached out to the family to offer help.  Marcia set a camera and feeding station and instructed the family on hanging flyers and talking with neighbors.  There was one sighting of Pi early on and then nothing until they received a sighting 3 weeks later.  Pi was seen on a neighbor's security camera.  Marcia immediately set a trap and at 2am, Pi was safe!
